Originally from Houston, Amanda E. Scott is a Latine writer currently pursuing a PhD in creative writing at Western Michigan University, where she has served as Editor-in-Chief of Third Coast. She is also co-founder and Assistant Executive Editor of Porter House Review, and her writing has appeared or is forthcoming in Crab Orchard Review, Entropy, Gulf Coast, Hayden's Ferry Review, HAD, Juked, New South, The Pinch, The Rumpus, Quarter After Eight, and elsewhere.

An educator with nearly a decade of experience, she has also taught a variety of undergraduate courses in composition, technical writing, creative writing, and editing, as well as graduate-level courses in publishing. Her research, which often explores the intersections between inclusive writing practices, ethical design, and social inequities, has appeared in Technical Communication Quarterly and The Journal of the Assembly for Expanded Perspectives on Learning.
